Hoboken NJ Photographer

documenting your life, naturally

Across my work with couples and families, my approach remains the same: Find the story at the heart of it all and tell it artistically. I’d love to tell yours too.

Has Adena ever met a stranger? I don’t think so.

My career began with press credentials

But my love of documenting life through a camera started long before that

Specifically, it started when I was 9 years old. I grew up outside Philly (Go Birds), but my dad’s job took us to Paris for a summer. A neighbor gifted me a camera, and I spent that entire summer taking pictures of the people, the places and the experiences that shaped our time overseas.

Years later, with a camera still in hand, I studied photojournalism at Syracuse University and graduated to work as a staff photographer for newspapers and universities. I loved my work as a photojournalist, but it was a wedding that made me realize my camera could document different kinds of stories.

My first wedding was magic

And ever since, I’ve known that the best weddings are never one-size-fits-all

It was a blend of Jewish and Cambodian traditions, with the bride in her mother’s wedding dress and a Justice of the Peace presiding. It taught me that weddings don’t need a rulebook, they just need people in love.

Today, I have a passion for discovering stories in the interesting details, the candid moments. My background means I get excited about the composition of it all — the textures, colors, the in-between. And trust me, you can tell I’m excited because I start talking even faster.

Today, I get excited for:

Weddings | couples | families | headshots

We wanted our photos to feel lively and like us and not like overly retouched strangers and Adena and her second photographer really delivered. They managed to be completely in the mix all night capturing every laugh and tear and yet I did not notice them at all. They seamlessly blended into the day in a way that we could just enjoy ourselves without feeling like we were constantly being stopped to pose or go do something.

You bring the story.
I’ll bring the camera.
