Carla + Jamaal had friends and family from all over the country join them for their Manhattan wedding a few weeks ago. Jamaal, who is currently stationed in Italy, and Carla, who was living in Virginia and has now joined Jamaal in Italy, used the theme of travel throughout their decorations – passport inspired program, postcards in lieu of a guestbook, and boarding passes for the name cards. Pete joined me as they started their day at the beautiful Akwaaaba Bed and Breakfast in Brooklyn before heading into Manhattan to the Manhattan Penthouse for the ceremony and reception. The reception was filled with dancing – including a dance-off between the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
