Specifically, it started when I was 9 years old. I grew up outside Philly (Go Birds), but my dad’s job took us to Paris for a summer. A neighbor gifted me a camera, and I spent that entire summer taking pictures of the people, the places and the experiences that shaped our time overseas.
Years later, with a camera still in hand, I studied photojournalism at Syracuse University and graduated to work as a staff photographer for newspapers and universities. I loved my work as a photojournalist, but it was a wedding that made me realize my camera could document different kinds of stories.
